From June 1, Macedonian citizens will find it easier to work in Germany

Citizens of North Macedonia, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro and Serbia will enjoy privileged access to the labor market in Germany from 1 June 2024, according to the Western Balkans Regulation.

This is because Germany has decided to double the number of visas that will be granted to the citizens of these six countries for work purposes annually to 50,000, writes SchengenVisaInfo.

From June 2024, the annual quota will increase to 50,000 permits issued by Germany's Federal Labor Agency.

The new rules will be shared in due course, and until then all appointments will continue to be allocated through the lottery system.

The German embassies in these six Western Balkan countries have set up a monthly lottery drawing system that randomly selects individuals who will be allowed to make an appointment to submit their visa applications.

The next registration for a work visa appointment for Germany under the Western Balkans Regulation will open this Wednesday, May 7, 2024, and close one week later, on May 14, 2024.
