USAID BiH Director Nancy J. Eslik and UNICEF Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Roonak Khan, presented donations - hygiene packages to the Roma community in the Malo Chajno neighborhood in the Municipality of Visoko.
This donation from USAID and UNICEF was given to the most vulnerable populations in response to urgent requests from governments at all levels. It costs about $ 500,000.
"Roma children and communities are among the most vulnerable in socio-economic circumstances. There are major differences between Roma and other populations when it comes to basic social services coverage, including vaccination.
According to the latest comprehensive data, the total immunization of Roma children was only 4 percent, "said UNICEF Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ronak Khan.
In the next few weeks, about 1,600 Roma families across BiH will receive these hygiene packages, UNICEF said.
