The illegal occupation since summer 2019 of City land west of Nice, along Boulevard Jean-Luciano, had not found a quick solution. The mayor appealed to the prefect. An evacuation was ordered and implemented this Wednesday morning.
Early this Wednesday morning, the public authorities evacuated an illegal camp set up for a year on municipal land in the plain of Var, avenue Jean-Luciano.
National police, municipal police and municipal and prefectural services arrived at 7 am on the spot, where there were about fifty people. Warned upstream, many occupants of this camp had chosen to leave before the eviction.
Last week, they were still more than a hundred in this makeshift facility which has welcomed up to 200 people (including a hundred children) since its installation in early August 2019.
