Is it true that if you are Roma it is harder to find employment in Serbia and is it prejudice or truth?
That is one of the questions that needs to be answered in a new study by the Institute of Social Sciences in Serbia.
The organizers of this research emphasize that Roma face a number of prejudices that were the basis for discrimination and thus a barrier to exercising the right to work of the Roma nationality.
"The survey that was conducted should confirm or deny that situation with segregation and that it is a strong barrier to the exercise of those rights," said the organizers.
The latest data say that their number is about 29 thousand members of the Roma nationality.
Practice shows that Roma are rarely employed in the administration, and the most common employments are low-skilled and manual workers.
