An online discussion was held last week on the importance of the new EU Strategic Framework for Roma Equality, Inclusion and Participation 2020-2030, and in particular on the fight against anti-Gypsyism, Roma inclusion policy in Bosnia and Herzegovina and how the requirements of the Framework The EU could be transferred to the socio-political context in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The aim of the EU Framework for National Roma Integration Strategies is to provide an opportunity to step up problem-solving and Roma integration activities. This is more important in the current context as the COVID-19 pandemic has revealed extreme exposure of excluded and marginalized Roma communities to negative health and socio-economic impacts.
In October this year, under the German Presidency of the Council of the EU, the European Commission launched a new Framework by which the German government committed itself to supporting beyond 2020 and strengthening the fight against anti-Gypsyism as a specific form of racism in Europe.
