UN Women is seriously concerned about the intensification of the military offensive in Ukraine and draws particular attention to its consequences for the lives and livelihoods of Ukrainian women and girls.

"We are committed to supporting the Ukrainian people, especially women and girls, at this time when it is most needed," said Sima Bahous, the organization's executive director.

As she pointed out, the current situation endangers the security of all Ukrainians and puts women and girls at a particularly increased risk of sexual and gender-based violence, especially those who are refugees or otherwise displaced from their homes.

UN Women pointed out that it works to ensure that women, especially those displaced, HIV-positive, Roma women, women with special needs, are not neglected.

"Your donation can now help address the needs of women in Ukraine, including those fleeing violence in neighboring countries, at a time of emergency crisis. "You can help protect and empower Ukraine's women to stop the rise of violence and promote women's equal participation and contribution to peace negotiations," UN Women said.
