The Roma population would rather use social assistance than get an education and find a regular job. 60 percent of Roma have not completed primary school, and unformed education is the main reason for unemployment of this population, which mostly works illegally, showed the research of the NGO Pred Plus, conducted in the Roma settlement Bair in Bitola.
Many have accepted it as a normal job, because they believe that if they use social assistance they will be able to work illegally and provide additional livelihood, says Ramsey Medic, member of the team at the Preda Plus Foundation.
