After a short illness on July 18, the prominent and well-known Roma intellectual Professor Bajram Haliti died.
By the way, he was born on May 21, 1955 in Gnjilane, Kosovo. He is known for his works and books. His books have won many awards, including several awards at the annual Amico Roma competition in Italy, and his work was included in Roma Roads: A PEN Anthology of Romani Writers in 1998. A polyglot who has lectured throughout Europe and the United States on Roma and Serbian issues. He was also the general secretary of the World Roma Organization.
On that occasion, IRU President Zoran Dimov, on behalf of himself and the membership, sent his condolences to his family, noting that the Roma community has lost a great Roma, patriot and intellectual.
Haliti lived and worked until his death in Zemun.
