Pavel Fischer, Marek Hilšer, Danuše Nerudová and Josef Středula would all fly the Romani flag on the appropriate occasions at Prague Castle if they were to become the head of state. The candidates made their statements during the Aréna N debate organized by Deník N.
“Decidedly yes. There are rather a lot of occasions on which the Romani flag could fly there too. Why not?” Středula said in response to a question from debate moderator Jan Moláček as to whether he would fly the Romani flag if elected.
“Romani people are citizens of this country, it’s a minority. I also see no reason why the flag couldn’t be flown,” candidate Hilšer responded.
“The Roma need recognition, including from the president, so yes,” agreed Fischer. Nerudová was of the same opinion.
