After the lawyer's announcement that they will sue the City if the Roma from Crvena Zvezda do not move out of the property of private individuals, Mayor Dragana Sotirovski announced that these people will be displaced, and that by applying for European projects, she will collect funds for the construction of apartments on the city plot in the same settlement.
As the mayor said, in agreement with the National Roma Council and non-governmental organizations, they decided to apply for projects that will collect funds for the construction of those apartments.
We are expecting the displacement of those people from Crvena Zvezda, and they are fully aware that they have to leave that area, because we have been warned by the lawyers of private individuals whose land it is that the City will be sued if we do not evict those families in due time - she said. Sotirovski said that the most important thing right now is that people agree that they must be displaced in order for the mentioned area to be returned to its owners.
