Sarajevo Roma Music Band from Sarajevo Gipsy Band with new approach makes Roma music relevant again on a wider scale
They were founded in 2015, with the idea of a new approach to traditional Roma music in Sarajevo. It is composed of professional musicians from BiH.
The Sarajevo Gipsy Band is composed of: Muhamed Jusic - drums, Davor Maraus - timbank, Kenan Imamovic - bass guitar, Mustafa Behmen - rhythm and solo guitar, Meho Radocic - clarinet, Admir Vatresh - harmonik and harmonica.
"In a way we are the keepers of Roma music in BiH," they say.
Their first CD consists of ten indigenous Roma songs recorded in a new arrangement and ethno style with jazz admixtures.
On their first album "Esma, Esma" you can listen to song covers such as: Tuti Fruti, Piharavel o Mile, Oto Deva Adava Mangav, Sajbia, Jasmine, , Esma, Esma, Herda barley chocolates, Gelem, Gelem Phirav mange corcorro.
