As reported by the Serbian media, on May 8, around 1:00 p.m., a merry-go-round full of children burst at the fair in Kuršumlija. 13 children were injured, of which this girl, the most seriously injured, was brought to UC Nis at about 15:30 on the same day, accompanied by an ambulance doctor from Prokuplje. After primary health care and on the basis of the emergency diagnostics performed at the Prokuplje Hospital, severe neurosurgical injuries were found. The next day, 50 to 60 SS soldiers surrounded the camp. They tried to drive the prisoners out of their barracks, but failed. On May 16, 1944, men, women and children from the so-called Gypsy camp in Auschwitz-Birkenau, having been warned in advance by members of the resistance in the camp, organized themselves to resist the SS soldiers who came that evening to lead them to the gas chambers. Fearing unnecessary losses, as some of the prisoners were ex-members of the German army and lest the resistance spread to other parts of the camp, the SS soldiers retreated. Within the framework of activities of the Roma NGO sector and attempts at networking and formation of the idea of an Union of Roma integration in the EU, a Video ZOOM meeting was held today between several representatives of the Roma NGO sector. The following people took part in that video meeting: Sebihan Demirovski, Nadir Redzepi, Zoran Dimov, Nadire Selmani, Samet Skenderi, Kjmet Amet, Ahmet Jasharovski, Dilbera Kamberovska, Ferdi Ismail, Margita od Sonce, Erol Ademov and Ramush Muarem. In that context, the following activities were discussed, including the Protocol for cooperation with Roma NGOs, to support EU integrations, which were developed by Sonce, RRC and Luludi.
