Almost 2,000 observers, domestic and foreign journalists and translators will follow the double elections on May 8 in the country. A total of 1,999 observers were accredited to monitor the second round of the presidential and parliamentary elections, of which the largest number, or 1,078, are domestic. The elections will be monitored by 770 foreign observers, 66 foreign journalists, and 85 translators have been hired. The OSCE/ODIHR mission has accredited 410 observers and 14 experts, and of the domestic ones, the largest number, or 752 observers, have been hired by the Association for the Development of Social Innovations "Wake Up".
The elections will be monitored by 138 observers from the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, the ad hoc commission of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe with 33 observers, as well as 68 observers from the US Embassy in Skopje. 66 journalists and media workers from the largest Balkan and regional media, as well as from Reuters, Associated Press, Al Jazeera, and France Press, have been accredited to monitor the dual elections.
