At least 120 people, including 39 children, have been infected with the coronavirus in Gettingen in the past two weeks.
The main culprits for the spread of the infection, as reported by "Tagesspiegel", are the Roma families housed in the "Iduna" complex who celebrated Ramadan Bajram, violating the recommendations of the German authorities.
The city administration said most of the participants in the celebration were from the former Yugoslavia, or neighboring Kosovo.
Roma, on the other hand, are defending themselves, claiming that the "zero patient" at the center was of a different nationality, allegedly from an African country, but it is too late for any investigation, especially when the infection has spread.
German politicians have reacted to the events in Gтиttingham, ie the spread of the coronavirus
The residents of the complex, which is guarded by about 30 police officers, are currently being tested, and the testing is currently voluntary.
