The fight against the spread of the coronavirus in Serbia has been going on for a long time and one gets the impression that the citizens are slowly getting used to the measures, especially less movement.
After the period of uncontrolled purchase of food items, medicines, and protective equipment, it is now evident that the mobility of people in places is not as much as it used to be. Those at work are careful to adhere to the recommendations, and those in self-isolation also generally adhere to those measures.
But what is the protection of people living in informal settlements and in substandard conditions? No financial support, no opportunity to buy hygienic protective equipment. No food, In substandard conditions. What is the effect that they are protected if they do not have a functional existence.
This is definitely not the time for poor Roma. The problem is even bigger. And it will be even more posed if this coronavirus crisis takes more time. God help!
