"Schengen work permit holders who were stranded in Germany in March due to a coronavirus epidemic and were unable to return to their home country due to limited travel are entitled to stay in Germany until September 30." Due to the COVID pandemic "19, this rulebook regulates the extension of temporary residence," the rulebook reads.
The decree applies to all foreigners who found themselves on the territory of the Federal Republic of Germany on March 17, 2020 with a valid Schengen visa or entered after March 17, 2020 and remained in Germany until June 30.
To facilitate their stay, all those who have a valid Schengen visa can apply for a job for which they are entitled.
"Foreign nationals who are exempted from the application for a residence permit under paragraph 1 can work until September 30, 2020 because their Schengen visa is entitled to it.
