Regarding the ethnically motivated incidents in Kocani in which the target of radical structures is the Roma community, CIVIL sent questions to the Minister of Political System and Inter-Community Relations, Artan Grubi, who is also the first Deputy Prime Minister. An answer came from Grubi's Cabinet in which he said:
"We condemn the unfortunate isolated events on ethnic and any other grounds. The government's policies for an equal society of equal citizens have proven to be successful and this is reflected in the relations between all communities in the country, in order to build a cohesive society of all citizens integrated in NATO and the EU. For the isolated incidents, we call on the Ministry of Interior and the Public Prosecutor's Office to shed light on the case. For this case, we will get in touch and talk with the mayor of Kocani and local community leaders in order to contribute to full respect for the rights of all citizens in the country and to end discrimination on all grounds.
Answers to the questions are still expected from the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy, Darko Stojcevski, councilor from VMRO-DPMNE in the Municipality of Kocani and independent councilor Venko Krstvski who wrote "eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth" on his Facebook profile about the incidents.
