Eight Bulgarian Roma have been arrested on Wednesday at the coast of the city of Thessaloniki and were charged by the public prosecutor for Children Exploitation and exposing to danger. According to the charges, they forced their children to beg all over the streets of the city, to look for food in the garbage, and after that they’d take the money and gamble in a casino in Bulgaria.
The arrests were made after a four month investigation by the unit for organized crime. The case includes exploitation of eight children, all of them under the age of 11, as said by the Greek newspaper Ekathimerini.
