Vojvodina's multiethnic feminist network has supported the Roma community in Ukraine and the Ukrainian people over the Russian invasion of that country.
"We want to send messages of support to the Ukrainian people, as well as to the Roma community that is there and survives various forms of torture, trauma, racism and discrimination," said Veska Qerimovic of the Novi Becej Roma Association.
She added that basic human rights must be respected, that women and girls at risk of violence must be supported, and that we must work together to prevent violence, racism, discrimination and early marriages.
The Vojvodina Multiethnic Feminist Network is running the "Roma Women's Activism Month" campaign from March 8 to April 8, and said their goal is to emphasize the importance of respecting the rights of Roma women, living without violence, femicide, racism and discrimination. .
They also added that during this campaign they point to the need to stop early child marriage, human rights violations and the departure of girls from the education system.
