Yesterday, the challenges in the implementation of the Law on persons not registered in the Birth Register were discussed. During that meeting, the Secretary of State in the Ministry of Justice, Muhamed Toci, noted:
"We continue to enable the unregistered persons to receive a permanent systemic solution.
The target group are vulnerable categories of citizens, more than half of whom are members of the Roma community.
The Government of the Republic of Northern Macedonia creates special policies, strategies intended for this vulnerable category.
"Let us all commit ourselves together to the proper implementation of the law in order to create a society that provides equal rights and opportunities to all citizens."
Unofficial: If "The day after the morning is known" Roma in Macedonia can hardly exceed the number of 60 thousand
These days, unofficial information has emerged that in Northern Macedonia, according to the 2021 census, there are a total of 1.8 million inhabitants or about 2.1 million in the diaspora. From that number, according to that information together with the diaspora, according to unofficial sources, Macedonians would leave from 60 to 62 percent, Albanians 29.5 percent, and members of other ethnic communities from 8 to 10 percent.
If "The day after the morning is known" the Roma in Macedonia can hardly exceed the number of 60 thousand. Will those numbers and percentages really come out then with the Roma according to the numbers it will be "ad acta" as in the last census from 2002 and that is about 56,000 Roma.
So for these 20 years, the Roma have not "sprouted" at all according to the number. Is that the "real" number of Roma in the country, now the mathematical calculations will begin.
The conclusion is one: We are really for nowhere!
The official results of the biggest statistical operation conducted last year will be announced this week.
