At the memorial Roma cemetery in the village of Ustica near Jasenovac, the 11th commemoration of the Roma victims of samudaripen (genocide) during the Second World War was held on August 2. The gathering, which was attended by representatives and delegates of numerous state institutions, the City of Zagreb, local governments, the diplomatic corps, anti-fascists and minority and non-governmental organizations, was organized by the Roma Association in R. Croatia "Kali Sara" in cooperation with MP Veljko Kajtazi and the councils of the Roma national minority.
At this gathering, among other things, it was mentioned: "On this day, we remember all the Roma victims of the genocide on the territory of Europe carried out by the Nazis and their collaborators, which resulted in the suffering of half a million Roma." For ten years we gather here to commemorate the forgotten Roma victims in a dignified way and added that the biggest genocide against the Roma population was committed on the territory of NDH during the Second World War and that "this place with 21 mass graves represents the biggest execution of Roma in Europe where more Roma died than in Auschwitz".
