The International Roma Day, April 8, was marked today by placing the flag of the Roma on the flagpole in front of the building of the Government of the Republic of Northern Macedonia, intonation of the anthem of the Roma people and a solemn reception.
In the formal hall of the Government, prominent representatives of the Roma community, including the coordinator of the Network for Systematic and Sustainable Solutions Zoran Dimov who was the moderator of the event, Deputy Prime Minister for European Affairs Bojan Maricic and Agim Nuhiu, Deputy Minister of Justice MP Ljatife the director of the Employment Agency Bekim Murati. In their addresses, they emphasized the efforts to continue the aspirations for equality and justice of the Roma community, respecting the already established concept "One society for all".
The participants in today's event emphasized the importance of the essential policies for the advancement of the Roma community based on the adopted Strategy for Roma Inclusion 2022-2030, as part of public policies to equalize the degree of inclusion and integration of that community in society.
At the event, the Advocacy Network for Systematic and Sustainable Roma Integration Solutions, which includes 15 Roma NGOs, awarded plaques to Roma from various walks of life for outstanding contributions to the development of the Roma community.
At the same time, the Declaration was read by the Network itself.
