The household renovation fund is fully financed by EU project funds, and the total amount is 150,000 euros. Of this amount, 135,000 euros will be directly allocated to construction interventions, while 10% or 15,000 is planned for the preparation of preliminary measurements/projects for the proposed renovations. Citizens who will successfully apply and will be selected will not receive financial resources, but delivered construction interventions (installation of PVC windows, restoration of facade and reconstruction of roofing). A tender will be announced for this. According to the plan, these activities should begin in the spring of 2023
The call for applications will be published on September 21st (Wednesday) at 10:00 am. It will be possible to apply every working day from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the premises of the local community "Dimitar Vlahov" on Bair, until October 7 (Friday), until 2:00 p.m. As for the criteria, the greatest emphasis is placed on the physical condition of the object. Priority will be given to households of single parents, large families, households consisting only of elderly persons (socio-economic criteria).
The fund will be realized in several stages. The first is the creation of a database, for which field activities are undertaken. Through the ongoing campaign for legalization, the Bair Support Team (BST) is actively working on the ground in the Bair neighborhood and communicating with residents, in order to ensure that everyone has accurate information about the application criteria. Those households that have legalized houses, or rather a title deed, will be able to apply. Apart from this basic documentation, the applicants should submit a notarized declaration that they are citizens of Roma nationality with a residence in the Bair settlement, a copy of an identity card, photos of the external appearance of the building. The application must be completely filled out, with all other consents to participate.
