The European Parliament called for the protection of Roma rights

The basic rights of Roma remain permanently violated in the EU, the European Parliament said in a resolution adopted in Strasbourg today. Significant obstacles are encountered when accessing this minority in education, housing, the labor market and health care. The EP calls for clearer targets for Roma inclusion and national strategies after 2020, says the institution.

Roma should be better represented in the media, state institutions and political organizations, MEPs say. EP calls for stronger measures to combat anti-Roma sentiment in the EU. The sentiments against the Roma are institutionalized and rooted in the historical form of racism, which is expressed in "violence, hate speech, exploitation, stigmatization" and discrimination, says the accepted text.

The exclusion of schools, access to the labor market, housing and health care are among the main obstacles for Roma in Europe. The EP notes the particularly difficult situation of young Roma, among which the number of those who do not work and learn does not increase.

Lawmakers are asking the European Commission and EU countries to propose clear and binding goals, deadlines and tools for assessing progress in Roma inclusion. They believe that significant public funds and human resources are needed to achieve these goals.

The EP calls for gender mainstreaming and the use of a child-directed approach in the EU's strategic framework. MPs insist on increased participation of representatives of Roma and non-governmental organizations in the development of inclusion policies.

The EP notes the need to protect and promote equal access to all rights of Roma children. There is a call for specific anti-discrimination goals as well as measures for Roma inclusion in environmental and digital society policies.

EU Structural Funds must be used to improve living conditions and future opportunities for Roma, MPs say. They urge EU countries to investigate abuses of assets and take legal action against perpetrators.

For 20 years, Muslims will be the most numerous in Macedonia

Muslims will be the majority population in Macedonia in the next 20 years. This is said in a survey by the American Pew Research Center that provides a longer period for this process, and announces it at the latest in the next 30 years in the research - "The Future of World Religions - Projections for the 2010-2050 population growth". According to the research, Macedonia enters the group of countries that will have a different majority in 2050 compared to 2010. In Macedonia in 2050, Christians will be under 50 per cent of the total number of citizens, and the number of Muslims will grow and will be over 50 per cent.

In 2012, 11,995 ethnic Macedonians were born in Macedonia, and 14,823 died in the same year. It is a balance of minus 2,828 persons. The same 2012 in Macedonia were born 8,035 ethnic Albanians, and died 3,416, which is a plus of 4,619.

Will the change, the disappearance of Christians in front of Muslims in the Balkans, happen faster than the announced world trends.

In the Skopje region (the city of Skopje plus Aracinovo, Kondovo, Petrovec, Ilinden and Saraj) 46.5% of the newborns are Macedonians in 2017 and 39% of newborns are Albanians.

If we add to this the babies of the Muslim families of Roma, Turks and Bosniaks - Macedonia for at least one generation, that is, for 20 years, will be a dominant Muslim country and already live what American research has announced since the beginning of this analysis in Europe for 2030-2050.

A board with North of Macedonia set up at the border crossing with Greece

At the crossing "Bogorodica" on the Greek-Macedonian border already stands a board with the inscription "Republic of North Macedonia" in Macedonian and English.

It's not a new board, but a change is made with noodles a stump on the old inscription.

This is in accordance with the yesterday's decision of the Inter-Ministerial Government Group for the implementation of the Prespa Agreement and the constitutional amendments, which stipulates that the Customs Administration will put stickers on the borders at the border crossings, the state border of the Republic of North Macedonia and the two airports in the Republic of North Macedonia, within 3 days.

Greece ratified the agreement with NATO, Macedonia officially becomes North

According to the Prespa Agreement and the constitutional law for the implementation of the changes in the current Macedonian Constitution, the newly agreed name for the country, the Republic of Northern Macedonia, came into force after the Greek parliament ratified the protocol for Macedonia's membership in NATO.

According to the forecasts, Macedonia will officially become Republic of Northern Macedonia in a few days.

The Government has already established an Inter-Sector Group that will have to prepare a National Action Plan for the implementation of further measures and activities, and within seven days state institutions, border crossings and diolomatic consular offices will have to change the tables with the new name of the state - the Republic Northern Macedonia.

The government does not expect problems from state institutions when using the new name of the state.

How much the whole process will cost the government is not disclosing, but they say that it will be known after the whole procedure is over.

The change of the constitutional name of Macedonia follows after the signing of the Prespa Treaty and its ratification in the parliaments of both countries. After a 27-year dispute with Greece, Macedonia will change its name from "Republic of Macedonia" to "Republic of Northern Macedonia".
