Council of Europe: Bulgaria to stop forced eviction of Roma

This violates the right of the Roma to privacy and family life, and the Bulgarian authorities must prevent forced evictions, tackle the stigmatization and marginalization of Roma, and improve their access to adequate housing. This is stated in the opinion of the Council of Europe (CoE) Commissioner for Human Rights Dunja Mijatovic, BNT reported.
The opinion is related to the implementation of the 2012 ruling of the European Court of Human Rights in the case of the eviction of Roma who settled in Sofia. According to the court, the eviction violated the right to privacy and family life of Roma.
Mijatovi смета believes that despite the serious violation of the right of access to adequate housing, forced eviction can lead to a wide range of human rights violations and must be prevented. It states that states have a duty to limit the risk of human rights violations in connection with eviction and to ensure that the principles of proportionality and non-discrimination are respected in any eviction process.
The Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights believes that the authorities must make efforts to tackle widespread prejudice and institutional racism against Roma.
According to her, in Bulgaria there are numerous obstacles to Roma access to social housing, including due to public resistance in some places, which has caused some municipalities to cancel construction projects

The municipality of Mores, located in the French department of Yuri in eastern France, recently bought an old house for 130,000 euros, and to the surprise and delight of all residents, thousands of gold coins and five gold bars were found in discarded pickles, valued at 500,000 euros, writes the French newspaper Le Parisien.
When they handed over the discovered treasure for appraisal, experts said it was worth about 500,000 euros. The rods and coins were kept by members of the Jobes family for decades, and their last descendants, four siblings, all single, lived in it for a long time.
Rumors spread that there was a hidden treasure in the house, but few believed it.
After the death of the last member of the Jobes family, the heirs of the house, distant relatives of the family decided to sell it along with the furniture and all items.
The municipality bought it for 130,000 euros, but profited many times over, because according to the law, real estate buyers are the owners of everything they find in it.
