A forty-three-year-old German man shot nine people dead in two local hookah bars in Hanau, Germany, on Wednesday evening and was found dead in his apartment several hours later by police along with his dead mother. According to statements by local authorities yesterday, the motive for the crime was apparently xenophobia, and the Supreme State Prosecutor is investigating the case as one of suspected terrorism.

"We're Like Belarusians": Life Of Gypsy Village Near Mahiliou

The first information about Roma on the territory of Belarus is recorded in the privilege of Aleksander Jagiellończyk in 1501. According to the charter of the Grand Duke of Lithuania, the Gypsies were allowed to roam in the lands of the Principality.

According to the population census of 2009, there are more than 7 thousand Roma in Belarus. The Gypsies themselves give another figure – about 60 thousand.

About 10% of the Roma are officially employed. Roma complain that they are not hired because of their nationality.

Roma children go to school No. 13, the only one in the village. They study in Russian. Half of the pupils are children from Roma families.

"It's hard to be illiterate now, but if parents don't press with it, the children leave school after 9th grade. Those who want to achieve success in life continue their education. They get higher education," – Alina says.

Few Roma call the Belarusians "Belarusians" in Hrebianiova. They are "Russians" for them. The Belarusian language is understood, but not spoken, although their Russian language contains a significant amount of Belarusian words.

Spain: Palma offers Roma families money to move out of Son Bath

The Palma city council has pledged 15,000 euros to each family who voluntarily leave the troubled area of Son Banja to be implemented by the end of 2021.

According to Anthony Noguera, city councilor for culture and social affairs, for the Spanish MM newspaper, Ultima Fora, the financial incentive can reach up to 20,000 euros.

Families can choose whether they want to get some kind of allowance or take advantage of the social rent that the city council initially offers for houses in Palma.

However, families with the largest number of Roma have to meet a large number of requirements. Among other things, residents are not allowed to own another apartment or business. Children must also meet the requirements for compulsory schooling.

By 2021, 85 houses in the Blue Bath are to be demolished for around 917,000 euros, which currently still live in about 90 families. A partial demolition took place between July 2018 and March 2019, before which 31 houses were ordered evicted
