All the details of the new law: If you want to move to Germany, you need to know this

The Law on the Migration of Experts Concerning Qualified Workers from Countries Outside the EU came into force.

Now, in more detail, we will try to explain to you what exactly the Immigration Act is in one of Europe's most powerful economies.

Under the new law, experts are no longer regarded only as highly qualified people, but also as qualified persons whose vocational education lasts at least two years and is equivalent to German education, and their diplomas must be recognized in Germany.

The goal is for the diploma recognition to be completed within three months of the submission of all necessary documents, and the visa issuance process for experts should last up to four to six weeks in the future.

The law applies to any expert from outside the EU who can prove that he has a contract of employment in Germany and relevant professional qualifications.

Ancillary work that does not require vocational qualifications is not covered, but workers with a basic professional qualification and a contract of employment or job offer in Germany must be qualified.

Anyone who has a work contract or a specific job offer will be granted a residence permit for four years or as long as the employment contract lasts.

After a four-year stay, the experts can permanently settle in Germany, ie acquire the right to unlimited stay.

Anyone who wants to look for a job in Germany will be granted a six-month visa, a prerequisite to have money to cover their living expenses during that period and to speak German at B2 level.

The new law also applies to foreigners who want to study or train in Germany, but must be under 25 years of age.

Those who work in Germany two years after graduation are entitled to permanent residence.

The special regulation applies to experts over 45 years of age who, if they wish to come to Germany, must have a salary of at least EUR 3 685 gross or proof that they have paid an appropriate pension.

Those who come with family to Germany must provide proof that they can support it and have a large enough apartment, which means around 950 euros per person and 10-12 square meters per person.

Spouses and children over 16 years of age must have basic knowledge of German, A1 level and newcomers are not entitled to social assistance.

Although the new law came into force on 1 March, the old law on Western Balkan countries is valid by the end of the year.

According to that law, coming to Germany did not require a degree, nor a passed language proficiency test, and unskilled workers could come.

A new coronavirus vaccine can be expected in three to four months.

For that time, the first clinical trials would be done, said World Health Organization spokesman Tarik Jasarevic.

"Teams of experts from around the world are engaged day and night in this and other joint missions and we believe it will work. The new virus is a global problem, and the vaccine against it is a global effort to get support from both the World Bank and the Coalition for Innovation in Preventing the Spread of Infectious Diseases. The goal of everybody is to find a vaccine as soon as possible, " - Jasarevic told the media.

According to him, it has been confirmed based on the genetic structure of the virus that it does not come from a laboratory, and there is increasing evidence of linkage of quid-19 to similar coronaviruses that occur in bats.

"The very beginning and transmission of the virus to humans has so far been unclear. The most likely assumption is that the animal is a carrier of bats by humans, "said Jasarevic, who also points out that there is a particular concern that there are cases without clear epidemiological links.

The death toll from coronavirus infections has soared to more than 3,000 after China reported 42 more deaths today.

But there have been deaths in other countries, including 54 in Iran and over 30 in Italy by yesterday.

There are nearly 90,000 confirmed cases of infection worldwide, and the number of infected is now growing faster outside China than in this far-flung country.

World media reports that most patients have only mild symptoms, citing World Health Organization (WHO) data, and so far the mortality rate in this epidemic varies between two and five percent.

Three Romani candidates now legislators after Slovak election: Ján Herák, Peter Pollák Jr. and Jarmila Vaňová

Three Romani candidates have become national legislators after yesterday's elections to Slovakia's unicameral national legislature. All ran for the victorious "Ordinary People and Independent Figures" (OLaNO) movement of Igor Matovič.

Peter Pollák Jr, who began running in 30th place on the candidate list, made it into office with more than 20 300 votes, moving him up to 14th place in the final results. Jarmila Vaňová ran as number 35 and won more than 6 800 votes.

The third successful Romani candidate is Ján Herák, who won more than 5 000 votes. Winning almost a quarter of all the votes cast, more than any other group or party competing, OLaNO, an anti-corruption movement previously in opposition, is now the leading political entity.
