Italian extreme right-wingers to a Roma woman: "We want to see all hanging and burning"

Photographs published by some Italian media have shaken the public both in Italy and wider.

In the text is written that in Kazal Brusiato in Rome there were violent protests that were made to a Roma woman along with her little child. The extreme right-wingers were the leaders of this violent act, in order to evict a mother with her child from a homeless apartment that was assigned to her in which she moved in few days ago.

One of the questions posed during the protests was: "Should we wake Mussolini from the grave" to which one of the protesters replied "It will not be bad"

These protests were accompanied by bizarre curses and even a request for someone to rape the mother, then hang her and set it on fire. The police had to intervene to save the mother with the child and take her in an unknown direction.

Celebrating Roma and Traveller history month

Roma and Traveller History Month (GRTHM) celebrates the diverse ways in which the Roma, Roma and Traveller communities add to the vibrancy of life in the UK and recognises the varied contributions that these communities have made to British Society historically and today.

Since 2008, GRTHM has been celebrated throughout the UK over the month of June. GRTHM shares the history, culture and language of Traveller and Roma communities, as well as other Travelling communities including showpeople, boaters and bargees.

Through celebration, education and raising awareness GRTHM helps to tackle prejudices, challenge myths and to raise the voices of Roma and Travellers in wider society.

Schools, libraries and museums around the UK throw their support to GRTHM each year providing activities and information which support the aims of challenging stereotypes and supporting community cohesion.

Croatian Ombudsman: Roma children are the most marginalized!

The Croatian Ombudsman for Children Helenica Pirnat Dragicevic warned in the Croatian Parliament that inequality is one of the key challenges in achieving children's rights, such as the quality of life that depends most on living conditions, place of birth, and that in this sense the most vulnerable are Romani children.

Roma children do not have access to a range of services, mostly because of the poverty of their families, said Piran Dragicevic, citing a positive example from several local communities where life can still be changed.

By submitting a report to the Croatian Parliament about the work of his office last year, ie the situation with the rights of 800,000 children in Croatia, he pointed to the high risk of poverty, to nervous legal access to the in-laws, such as healthcare for children and families in each region, towns and municipalities, where there is a big difference between children from the very start of their lives.

Amnesty International: No justice one year after attack on a Romani camp in Ukraine

Amnesty International, a human rights organization, said in a press release issued on 24 April 2019 that the Ukrainian authorities must provide justice for the victims of the assault on a Romani encampment in Kyiv's Lysa Hora Park that was perpetrated on 21 April 2018 by members of an ultra-right group promoting discrimination and hatred.

"We heard strong declarations of condemnation from the highest officials, who pledged to deliver justice for the victims... but where are we one year later?" asked Oksana Pokalchukova, the director of Amnesty International in Ukraine.

"What the Ukrainian authorities have undertaken during the last 12 months is far from an effective investigation. They have done little to aid the victims of this shameless hate crime," the press release states.

After the attack its perpetrators openly communicated about their actions and bragged about them online, and one who is a member of a group that defends discrimination and hatred publicly took credit for the assault on his personal Facebook profile.

He was arrested in July 2018, but in November he was released after a court decided that police had committed procedural violations.
