What will a school day in Macedonia look like in the new school year?

It will no longer be the case that students only receive learning materials by e-mail and then return them to the teacher. Teachers must be present in the classroom. Students will have a pre-announced class schedule.

This is part of the protocol prepared by the Commission for Infectious Diseases, which the Government should adopt for the school year to finally start.

In the model of physical presence teaching, the teacher will be present in the classroom and will teach the material directly in front of the students whose parents have decided for them to attend physical education classes. If certain parents in the class ask students to attend online classes, the class will be broadcast live to all of them (students attending classes from home) or, if the possibilities do not allow live streaming, the class will be recorded and then broadcast to all other students through the applications used in the past school year or printed materials will be delivered to each student separately. Also, the teacher can choose an already recorded lesson on the appropriate topic posted on "Eduino", say the Ministry of Education and Science.

Belgian police officer made 'Nazi' salute in cell of man who died

The Belgian government has been urged to investigate the death of a man in police custody after an officer sat on his rib cage for 16 minutes and another apparently made a Nazi salute.

Jozef Chovanec, a 38-year old Slovakian citizen, was arrested at Charleroi airport in February 2018 after causing a disturbance while boarding a flight to Bratislava. Taken to a cell, he started banging his head against a wall, causing bleeding.

On Wednesday video images emerged showing how he was pinned down in the cell by six police officers. One officer sat on his rib cage for 16 minutes, according to Het Laatse Nieuws, which obtained the footage.

The officers laughed “exuberantly” while one danced and made a Nazi salute, according to a doctor’s report. A blanket was over Chovanec’s face for some time. Chovanec died in hospital the following day.

This is for every condemnation: Young people from the town of Lazarevac, Serbia attacked their peers just because they are Roma!

Terrible racism in Serbia! We hear about attacks almost every day.

A video of young boys from Lazarevac, Serbia, attacking their Roma peers appeared on social networks in Lazarevac last Saturday around 11 pm. No reason, just because they are Roma.

The comments read: "They attacked them because they wanted to and they can." Witnesses say a group of young boys started arguing with Roma.

Someone in the comments strongly condemned this act. But the question also arises. Why did no one react?

Leviathan leader Pavle Bihali took to Twitter to announce the event and his stance sparked comments on the social network.

He allegedly commented that the Roma were protected as "polar bears" and their behavior was unacceptable, and openly sided with the young attackers from Lazarevac.

- Yes, there was a fight and there were calls to the Gypsies, but if you look more closely at the disputed video, you will notice that the "polar bears" were not attacked, but the boy on the left is covered in blood, which means that he was attacked. The behavior of this minority is unacceptable. "They are just 'hiding behind their rights,'" Bihali wrote on Twitter.

Pandemic in informal settlements: "We have neither soap nor washing powder"

"We have nothing, neither soap, nor washing powder, nor disinfectants", that is how the Roma from the Roma settlement "12 February" start their story for the media

About a hundred Roma families live here. In 593 Roma settlements according to the Strategy for Social Inclusion of Roma in Serbia for the period 2016 - 2025, live about 70% of the Roma population.

The problems they face have only increased with the coronavirus pandemic in Serbia, and the measures taken by the official institutions in the fight against the spread of the virus, which means maintaining personal hygiene and hygiene in their environment, and that few were able to to implement it, says the information from the Association of Coordinators for Roma Issues. Almost 25,000 people do not have standard drinking water.

The executive director of that Association, Dragan Gracanin, says that about 5,000 Roma families or about 25,000 Roma are unable to observe and implement personal hygiene measures.
