Serbia: A false slogan is circulating, irritated by the candidate from the Democratic Union of Roma, Milan Petrovic - Fafi: "Vote for Roma, don't be gypsies"!
A fake pre-election poster of the Democratic Union of Roma (DUR) for the local elections in Kragujevac, which speaks insultingly about the Roma national minority, has started circulating on social networks. Due to the spread of racial and ethnic hatred in this way, the holder of that list from DUR Milan Petrovic-Fafi, reported unknown perpetrators in the Department of High Technical Crime.
Otherwise, the official pre-election slogan of DUR is "All for 11 - 11 for all" is renamed to "Vote for Roma, don't be gypsies"! and social media. Petrovic himself is distancing himself from this slogan and noting that this discriminatory slogan is a discrediting, illegitimate and undemocratic act.
He believes that the perpetrators of this crime will be caught and adequately sanctioned
He says such xenophobic outbursts are likely because many Roma do not vote for their national affiliation.
According to the latest census, 1,482 Roma are registered in Kragijevac, but in reality the percentage of that number is at least six times higher.
