Where it is thin, it breaks

Saturday, a day that I start with a walk in the early morning with my dog, visiting and choosing one of the five buregdžinica in my neighborhood on Trg Kralja Aleksandra in Niš. Choosing an adequate burek in Nis is a challenge. There is no such offer anywhere in the world. I'm thinking about burek and December 10, International Human Rights Day. I was invited to two gatherings where I had to say something "smart". I don't want us to deal with an empty celebration this year, something that is not a celebration.

All those who celebrate Human Rights Day on December 10 do so deeply disturbed by the current state of affairs. The Prime Minister of Serbia announces the entry of our security forces into Kosovo. Russia continues to wage its war of aggression against Ukraine, targeting civilians, leaving people without heat and electricity. The moral and intellectual infrastructure of Serbia is being destroyed, the president of SANU announced his resignation, journalists and human rights defenders are threatened.

We, the Roma, are somehow getting through the latent and almost legal European fascism and a world that has gone crazy a long time ago! Across Europe, Roma, minority and religious groups – including Jewish, Muslim and Christian communities – face increased threats and physical attacks.

A heightened public narrative and a breakdown in social media control have brought anti-Roma, anti-Semites, Holocaust deniers and Islamophobes into the mainstream with disastrous consequences. I am receiving information about attacks on Roma in Greece and Slovakia. A Greek policeman shot a sixteen-year-old boy, Roma, in the head. In Slovakia, "Dedamraz" did not give packets to Roma children. They cut my burek!

I'm afraid! I believe in my neighbor Mikica, brothers Bubet and regular Saturday coffee. I don't know what to talk about today at these two gatherings. I mean... Law - even this day is the most convenient invention that impotent politicians and international institutions have found against justice! Twenty years have passed since the adoption of the Law on Minorities and 13 years since the adoption of the Law on Prevention of Discrimination. How can I explain that "equality" in Law and life is not the same.

How to explain that only 0.001 percent of Roma work in state institutions, and a few hundred highly educated young Roma are waiting at the Bureau. That it is the state that most often does not respect its own Constitution, because "society of equal opportunities" is actually just a phrase. That he does not comply with the Law on Civil Servants, which states that equal national representation of minorities in state bodies and institutions must be taken into account. What can I say about the hundred or so old Roma settlements that have been illegal and have existed since the beginning of the 20th century, as opposed to the "bought" social housing that Roma workers never received?

Czech housing estate inhabited mostly by Romani tenants lacks heat and hot water

The inhabitants of a housing estate in the town of Šluknov in the Děčín area have long been bothered by dysfunctional heating and a lack of hot water. The renters, who are frequently families with children, are living in units where the temperature is just 15 degrees Celsius during freezing weather.

One tenant who did not want his name publicized has informed the Czech News Agency (ČTK) that the buildings have outdated boilers that run on coal and wood. According to him, the fires are not lit in the boilers most of the time.

The owner of the buildings, Pavel Zeithammer, has told ČTK those allegations are deceptive. According to him, the apartments have heat.

“This has been going on for eight years, maybe even more. The boilers are there, but they are old. We even had a 14-day shutdown to replace them, but they never put any new ones in,” the tenant said.

From the analysis and reaction of the System Solutions Network: Education is one of the key factors for progress among the Roma community, a larger budget is needed for the educated in the implementation of the Roma Strategy 2020-2023

Roma Times continues to publish the reactions to the reports of some of the Ministries on the implementation of the separate budgets in the implementation of the Roma Strategy 2020-2023. The Network for systemic and permanent solutions for the Roma community in R. North Macedonia also responds to these reports. It reacts to the method of implementation as well as the amount of allocated funds.

This time he refers to the Budget allocated to the Ministry of Education and Science. In its brief report, the Ministry of Education states that the implementation is carried out through two programs, Administration and Secondary Education

In the report on the Administration program, it is stated that in 2020 and 2021, about 10 million denars have been set aside, and for 2022 it has been increased to 17.1 million denars, and with the budget for 2023 being too long, it will amount to 18.9 million denars.

In the report it is noted that 13.4 million denars will be allocated mainly for contracts, while 5.5 million denars will be allocated for various transfers.

But unfortunately, nothing is specifically written about what Contracts and Various transfers are meant. That remains an unknown.

For the second program under Secondary Education, the budgets from 2020 to 2022 were between 12 and 14 million. denars. For 2023, the lowest budget of about 10.1 million denars is planned. It is dominant that those funds will be realized mostly for Subsidies and transfers.

But unfortunately, according to the reaction of the Network for System Solutions for those separate 150,000 euros in the report, there is no description of the type of Subsidies and transfers in question.

Is it easier to manipulate the report without a given description of Subsidies and transfers or ....?

Or maybe they want to allocate 45,600 euros from those funds (for 38 Roma families 1,200 euros each) as compensation for the judgment passed by the European Court against the Republic of Macedonia for the segregation and discrimination of Roma children - students in two primary schools in Shtip and Bitola

Indefiniteness as much as you want!

The analysis will continue in the coming days.

In what form does YouTuber Zakbier see some of the European countries: Italy looks like a boot, Albania like a condom, and Macedonia?

YouTuber Zackabier posted a video on his channel in which he illustrated what European countries remind him of.

In the video, he listed all EU countries, even non-members, including Macedonia.

He started the cute video with the question - Do you see in Europe what I see? He then asks if you have ever lay in the grass and looked up at the sky, wondering what exactly a cloud reminds you of.

"It's amazing how the shapes of the clouds resemble an object or an animal, it's the same with the contours of countries' borders," he said in the video.

Italy undoubtedly resembles a boot, Albania miraculously resembles a condom, Armenia resembles a shark, and Austria associates it with a fat snail.

Azerbaijan has fared better, with YouTube linking the shape of its borders to a bird of paradise, Belgium to a man praying, and Bosnia to a rocket.

While Croatia traditionally reminds people of muffins, and those who are more optimistic of a dove in flight, it seems that Game of Thrones has changed that perception, so Croatia now has the shape of a dragon.

Serbia is reminiscent of a dinosaur YouTuber, and Kosovo is associated with a ghost form.

Macedonia supposedly looked like a cauliflower flower, so see for yourself in the video if we could have had a better time
