According to the conclusions of the analysts in the project, it is evident that anti-Roma sentiment is on the rise on the Internet.

"The trend of normalizing hate speech against Roma continues. Today, such speech is spread not only by members of ultra-right groups, but also by "ordinary" people or political parties," say Selma Muhic Dizdarevic and Jitka Votavova, authors of a study on anti-Gypsyism.

"Fake news, fraud and manipulation are used as instruments to spread hatred. The trend of so-called humorous racism is also on the rise, creating a combination of irony, mockery and humiliation that is particularly attractive to young people," the authors say.

They add that the trend of relativizing or openly denying the historical facts related to the genocide against the Roma during the Second World War continues.

"There are often accusations that there is a special kind of 'Roma crime' or that Roma have an advantage over other residents," the report said, citing fraud related to free medicine or higher social benefits for Roma.

Vandals are destroying tombstones and desecrating grave sites at the Roma cemetery in Leskovac

In the space of three months, unknown vandals destroyed dozens of tombstones and desecrated burial places at the Roma cemetery in Leskovac, which is located in the complex of the Svetoilijski cemetery on Jajnski put.

Osman Veselović told ROMinfomedia that the tombstone and burial place of his wife were desecrated twice.

"A few months ago, vandals damaged the monument and broke the ceramic paintings, so I had to order others, glue and repair the other damage, but the same thing happened a few days ago, and today I reported the case to the police in Leskovac," Veselović said.

He also told us that another dozen monuments were damaged in a similar way and burial places were desecrated.

To remind you, in 2021, in the same cemetery, thieves removed metal fences and gates, brass letters, and vases from about twenty burial places, and the injured parties also reported the case to the police. To this day, it is unknown who the perpetrators of those crimes are

MTSP: Payment of financial support for vulnerable categories of citizens has begun

The Ministry of Labor and Social Policy reports that the payment of financial aid is in progress in accordance with the Law on Financial Support for Vulnerable Categories of Citizens for Dealing with the Energy Crisis.

Support refers to:

beneficiaries of the right to social security for the elderly,

users of a special allowance,

beneficiaries of the right to compensation due to disability,

beneficiaries of compensation for disability and permanent changes in health, who use compensation for assistance and care from another person, and do not use the right to compensation due to disability, without the need for a control examination and

single parents who are registered beneficiaries of guaranteed minimum assistance.

These citizens receive the financial support of 3,000 denars / 50 euro per month, for a period of four months.

  Today, the financial support for unemployed persons-beneficiaries of the right to material security is paid in the form of monetary compensation, in accordance with the Law on material security of unemployed persons due to the privatization of enterprises with dominant ownership of the state.

The financial support for these users amounts to MKD 3,000 / 50 euro per month, for a period of four months, and is paid by the Employment Agency of North Macedonia.

  Through the Pension and Disability Insurance Fund, financial support is paid for beneficiaries entitled to a pension in the amount of up to 14,000 denars / 230 euro, and for beneficiaries with a pension up to 11,525 denars / 195 euro per month, 1,500 denars / 25 euro per month, for a period of four months, and from 11,526 denars / 195 euro to 14,000 denars / 230 euro per month, is 750 denars / 13 euro  per month, for a period of four months. For beneficiaries of the right to compensation for physical damage, 750 denars  / 13 euro per month for four months.

Any type of disability of a family member causes a great imbalance in the functioning of the family. The situation is much worse when it comes to the child's disability. Below is an interview with Veroslav Jovanović, father of a disabled child.

At one of those examinations, we received information from a representative of the Center for Social Work of GO Voždovac about the rights we can exercise for him as a child with serious illnesses and an uncertain outcome of the treatment.

After a few days, I went to the Center for Social Work and after talking with the social worker, I received detailed instructions on the methods and protocols that exist for realizing the rights of children with special needs and their families.

I filled out the forms for the committee that determined the degree of my son's disability and based on that decision from the committee, I acquired the right to someone else's care and assistance, the funds needed for further care and treatment were determined.

- What about children with special needs of Roma nationality whose parents do not have the opportunity to be informed about the educational opportunities of their seriously ill children?

- I think that very little work was done there, there were certain protocols, but very little work was done there, some kind of evening, special schools, teaching that took place in the premises of the building and workshops based on some projects with a very short duration. . As far as I know, some great effect and inclusion was not carried out according to the existing protocol, much to the regret of those children.
