According to the statements, the Minister of Health Venko Filipce, the MP Ljatifa Shikovska, the mayor of the municipality Kurto Dudush and the Initiative of Romani women from Suto Orizari at their last meeting concluded that it is necessary to take concrete steps to realize this problem. The Initiative for Economic Development of Roma (REDI) in cooperation with the Swiss Entrepreneurship Program (SEA), Startup Macedonia, Business Impact Lab, E-Commerce Macedonia, E-Commerce Serbia and Spherical Accelerator Romania, realized the first e-accelerator program Digital Boost "(" Roma Digital Boost "). The aim of the program is to transfer knowledge and skills to 60 Roma-led businesses for their transformation from traditional business to digital business and to provide financial support in the form of monetary reward, one-on-one mentoring, tutoring support and e-commerce solutions. of the most promising established digital businesses. Through the Roma Digital Bust program, on the online platform Zoom, 60 Roma-led businesses from Romania, Northern Macedonia and Serbia participated in online business modeling and digital transformation modules, impact and management, marketing, e-commerce and business idea presentation . At the end of the program, 28 finalists presented their business models online to the jury. Feride Bekiri is the winner from our country, who won a 5,000 euro prize package (grant and individual mentoring). Feride is a Roma woman entrepreneur with over 25 years of experience in the clothing trade. It has a trading business that was closed during the Covid-19 crisis. With experience and knowledge from the Roma Digital Bust program, Ferdier managed to develop his business online. In addition to the three winners from the three participating countries, the other 25 finalists received a different set of services to develop their business models.
The total amount of prizes awarded for this program is 25,000 euros. The program is funded by the Open Society Fund Covid Puled Fund.
