Education of Roma men and women in Leskovac,
In the primary school for adult education “Dositej Obradovikj” in Leskovac, as well as the schools in Grdelica, Bojnik Lebane and Vlasotince, are visited by around 350 students, 97.5% of which are Roma. Most of the students are in the central school in Leskovac which has 23 classes. The Primary Adult Education school, according to the model of functioning lasts three years and is realized in three cycles, each cycle lasting one year. The first cycle teaches the basics of functional literacy, the second and third contain – basics of primary education and professional competency.
The professional competencies are gained through training as one of the forms of training based upon the standards of labor and the demands of the labor market. “The creation of this audio material was made possible by the Ministry for Culture and Information of the Republic of Serbia.
