Serbia: The unemployed will receive 120 Euros, and around 3.000 musicians will receive two minimal wages.

The President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic in an interview with RTS promised that the unemployed people will receive state aid in the amount of 120 Euros.

- The unemployed individuals will receive 120 Euros this year. Every unemployed and adult will receive two payments of 30 Euros in May and November and 60 Euros in June – noted Vucic and also mentioned that:

- There are good news for the musicians as well, they are not in the system for tax payers, however their numbers are around 3.000 musicians, and we have also prepared financial aid for them as well, this will be in the form of two minimal wages.

The decision will be adopted this week by Serbian Government.

They also plan aid for the pensioners.

- These funds are given for basic consumption, and will raise the level of incomes. We have 62.1 billion Dinars in the budget. In December and November the costs are much higher, everything which is poorly calculated in the previous year. The standard of our citizens is much more valuable than those funds in the budget – noted Vucic.

The citizens of Suto Orizari are hoping that a gold fish will solve their problem with the GPs

The impatience keeps on rising among the citizens of Suto Orizari. At this moment, not a single GP is in the polyclinic of this municipality which has 3000 patients. This is only worsening the work and endangers the health while the virus is spreading like a wild fire. If the citizens get infected, they will not be able to make an appointment to test themselves.

That is why the Initiative for Development and Inclusion of the Communities from Skopje gave a symbolic award to the polyclinic as “The Worst Polyclinic in the city”.

The Government said during today’s press conference that they haven’t received an official demand from the initiative regarding this issue, however, they note that the Ministry of Health cannot appoint new GPs.

"There are legal procedures for how someone can open an office as a GP. These are regulated by the Health Care Act and the by-laws such as: Regulations for the necessary space, equipment and professional staff for establishment, starting work and performing the health activity in a health institution. "Since all these procedures are completed, the Ministry has only issued a work permit," said the Government.

"Our appeal to all is that in the course of a pandemic, we must not allow citizens to be left without health care and a pediatrician," he said.

This is happening while 250 general practitioners, of whom only one Roma, reported as unemployed, according to the information that the initiative received from the Employment Agency.

"Of particular concern is the ignorant relationship between the institutions and the Ministry of Health. It cannot be said that they are constantly announcing advertisements for concessionaires and that nothing is taken, when we know that the most marginalized population lives here, which is in social risk and they need primary health care at the same level ", added Salija Bekir Halim from the Initiative for Roma Women of Shuto Orizari.

Violence in Strumica, hate speech and misinformation

Igor Vckov from Strumica was brutally beaten a few days ago, he was beaten with bats and fists from a group of 10 people in the center of Strumica. The video which was published on the Facebook Page StrumicaOnline, shows a large group of people beating down Vckov, but it can be also seen that another young person (probably a young boy) was being beaten. The scenes seen in the video are due to another altercation which started in a casino, which according to comments and witnesses on social media was initiated due to the fact that the “Gypsies from Banica” were disturbing the female employee in the casino, and that is why they were beaten. Vckof has posted on Facebook that he was in the casino to play, and before he began to play, he asked the employee to bring him a beer. After some time, he asked for another beer, to which the employee said that he can’t have another. Afterwards, according to his testimonial, a physical altercation with the security of the casino happened. The fight continued in the center of Strumica where he was brutally beaten. He also said that the attackers were a part of the “Security of Zaev” and he called the Prime Minister and the institutions to solve the case. The Basic Public Prosecutor's Office in Strumica has formed a case for the event in the center of Strumica, when several individuals were part of a physical altercation. “Guidelines and orders have been issued to the competent authorities for submitting data and establishing the identity of the persons who participated in the event. "The prosecution continues to take continuous actions in order to clear up the event," as stated by the Public Prosecutor's Office.
