Roma in Macedonia have the least trust by other ethnic communities

The Roma community is the least accepted and at the same time a community that enjoys the lowest trust of the other communities in the Republic of Northern Macedonia.

This fact is generally known among the nationalities living in the country.

According to the nationalities living on the territory of RS Macedonia, the most acceptable for neighbors, friends, spouses, co-workers, employees, etc. are members of the Macedonian ethnic community, and the second most accepted community is the Turkish ethnic community.

In all these respects, the Roma community is at the very bottom of this list. The least accepted, as well as the community that enjoys the lowest trust from other communities is the Roma community.

This means that the Roma as a whole are undesirable as neighbors, at the same time as spouses and colleagues at work.

At the same time, according to the perception of the other communities, everyone is with the conclusion that the Roma are still perceived as the most discriminated community, but still enjoy the lowest trust from other communities.

The second ethnic community, after the Roma, with which they would cooperate the least and have the lowest trust, is the Albanian ethnic community.

But unlike the Roma, according to the perception, the Albanians are the most privileged community in the country.

This is a clear illustration of the relations between the different communities in the Republic of Northern Macedonia, and points to the importance of creating inclusive education and the need for practical implementation of the "One Society for All" strategy.

Macedonia has adopted a national plan to immunize the population of Covid -19

At last night's session, the Government decided to carry out the vaccination in three phases. In each of them different categories of citizens will be covered according to the primary quantities of available vaccines, the vulnerable categories will have priority.

According to the health authorities, the existing health infrastructure and the professional staff working in this field are sufficient for the immunization process. At the moment when a larger number of vaccines will arrive, it is planned to include more vaccine teams, and more points will be opened. The My Tremin system will play a key role in the implementation of the vaccination.

-According to the plan, we will be vaccinated with the Pfizer vaccine and the process will take place in the mentioned three phases from the beginning of February, says Muamet Hoxha, a spokesman for the Government.

The first announced 8,000 phaser vaccines from Serbia are expected in February, and later in the month the 5,850 doses directly agreed with the manufacturer are expected. According to the plan, these vaccines will be used for the employees in the covid centers.

The hope for a quick mass vaccination is now in the Chinese 200,000 vaccines, for which more details are expected by the end of the week.

Statement by President Joseph R. Biden, Jr. on International Holocaust Remembrance Day

Today, we join together with people from nations around the world to commemorate International Holocaust Remembrance Day by remembering the 6 million Jews, as well as the Roma and Sinti, Slavs, disabled persons, LGBTQ+ individuals, and many others, who were murdered by the Nazis and their collaborators during the Shoah. We must never forget the truth of what happened across Europe or brush aside the horrors inflicted on our fellow humans because of the doctrines of hatred and division.

I first learned about the horrors of the Holocaust listening to my father at the dinner table. The passion he felt that we should have done more to prevent the Nazi campaign of systematic mass murder has stayed with me my entire life. It’s why I took my children to visit Dachau in Germany, and why I hope to do the same for each of my grandchildren — so they too would see for themselves the millions of futures stolen away by unchecked hatred and understand in their bones what can happen when people turn their heads and fail to act.

We must pass the history of the Holocaust on to our grandchildren and their grandchildren in order to keep real the promise of “never again.” That is how we prevent future genocides. Remembering the victims, heroes, and lessons of the Holocaust is particularly important today as Holocaust deniers and minimizers are growing louder in our public discourse. But the facts are not up for question, and each of us must remain vigilant and speak out against the resurgent tide of anti-Semitism, and other forms of bigotry and intolerance, here at home and around the world.

The horrors we saw and heard in Charlottesville in 2017, with white nationalists and neo-Nazis spewing the same anti-Semitic bile we heard in the 1930s in Europe, are the reason I ran for president. Today, I recommit to the simple truth that preventing future genocides remains both our moral duty and a matter of national and global importance.

The Holocaust was no accident of history. It occurred because too many governments cold-bloodedly adopted and implemented hate-fueled laws, policies, and practices to vilify and dehumanize entire groups of people, and too many individuals stood by silently. Silence is complicity. As my late friend and Holocaust survivor Tom Lantos so frequently reminded us: “The veneer of civilization is paper thin. We are its guardians, and we can never rest.”

When hatred goes unchecked, and when the checks and balances in government and society that protect fundamental freedoms are lost, violence and mass atrocities can result. The United States will continue to champion justice for Holocaust survivors and their heirs. We are committed to helping build a world in which the lessons of the Holocaust are taught and in which all human lives are valued.

How much money was collected in the Budget from the fines for not wearing a mask from the beginning of the decision?

At least 1,360,000 euros entered the state budget from fines paid by citizens for failing to protect a person. The Ministry of Interior has so far registered 136,227 violations on that basis. The fine for not wearing a mask is 20 euros, ie 10 euros if paid within eight days. This means that since the measure was introduced, the citizens have enriched the state budget by between 1,360,000 and 2,720,000 euros.

The citizens have a divided opinion on whether a mask should be worn outdoors, but also on the amount of fines.

However, during the pandemic, much more money flowed into the budget than fines for non-compliance with preventive measures, for example, grouping, non-compliance with isolation decisions, violation of curfew, etc. Exactly for non-compliance with the ban on movement, the Ministry of Interior registered 5,414 violations, for which the Prosecutor's Office and the courts then determine the amount of the fine, which can amount to over 1,000 euros. The amount that entered the budget on these grounds is not known..
