The first censuses on the territory of the Republic of Northern Macedonia appear in the 15th century, when the Turkish authorities enumerated only the tax heads and the male population. There are Russian, French, Greek, and other 19th-century census data sources. The first modern census on the territory of the Republic of Macedonia was conducted in 1921. After the Second World War, 8 censuses were conducted in the Republic of Macedonia: 1948, 1953, 1961, 1971, 1981, 1991 and 1994 and 2002. The 1991 census was incomplete and therefore in 1994 a census was conducted again in the same decade. The 1994 census is the first census in the Republic of Macedonia since its independence. Documentary on WWII-era concentration camp for Roma in Czech Republic screening TONIGHT ONLINE

As part of the international film festival AKE DIKHEA? (in Romanes, "Do you see?") the documentary film "LETY", produced by Romani community members Renata Berkyová, František Bikár and Viola Tokárová, in 20 November at 20:00 on the festival website. "LETY" captures the efforts of many stakeholders in the Czech Republic to remove an industrial pig farm from the site of a Protectorate-era concentration camp for Romani people.
The feature-length film also reviews the ongoing debate in Czech society about the history of this site associated with the Holocaust and its Romani victims. Production of the documentary began with a team from the organization ROMEA in June 2018.
The documentary features footage from the archives of ROMEA TV and public broadcaster Czech Television, augmented by footage capturing events during the last two years, by survivor testimonies, and by interviews with people involved since 1989 in the efforts to remove the farm from the site of the former concentration camp for Roma. Investigative research into previously unclarified facts that influenced how the buyout of the farm by the Czech state developed was part of the filmmaking process.

European Parliament: Vulnerable groups threatened in EU, condemnation of Roma segregation

The European Parliament on Thursday adopted the Report for 2018-2019 on the situation of fundamental rights in the EU, which identified several worrying situations. Representatives strongly condemned the efforts of some EU member states to weaken the separation of powers from the judiciary and stressed the need for the introduction of mechanisms by the EU regarding democracy, the rule of law and basic principles. They also strongly condemned the alarming state of feminism in the EU and the convergence of Roma women in health care, and called for the most urgent ban on this discriminatory practice, and for the legal instrument of victims of forced sterilization.

In 1984 he returned to Bulgaria, invited by Academician Atanas Maleev, Rector of the Medical Academy and Deputy Minister of Health. He was the founder and director of the St. Catherine Hospital in Sofia for many years.
On that occasion, as a sign of gratitude, Roma activists will propose the construction of a monument to prof. Chirkov in Lom. The initiative was posted on Facebook by people from Lom. In a special address to the municipality and the mayor of Lom, the Roma will ask for an extension of the eternity of medicine, and the great prof. Dr. Alexander Chirkov.
