Vulnerable categories of citizens will receive additional funds for protection against energy poverty

The Director of the Energy Regulatory Commission, Marko Bislimovski said at a press conference that in the next period he will meet with NGOs and the Government in order to find a solution for vulnerable categories of citizens who would use additional funds for protection against energy poverty.

"We as ERC are of the opinion that the number of vulnerable categories of consumers who should receive certain assistance for social protection for energy poverty should be increased and all those consumers should be found, usually as before, these will be the social cases they receive. Assistance will also be provided to citizens who have problems due to the impending crisis. "We also insist that it applies only to consumers who have problems, but in reality those consumers who do not have problems, we believe that there is no need to provide additional assistance from social protection for energy poverty," said Bislimovski

The Ministry of Defense announced an announcement for admission of 200 professional soldiers in the service of the Army of the Republic of Macedonia. After completing the training, they will have the opportunity to establish a fixed-term employment (at 4 years) with the possibility to extend it several times, but at most at the age of 45.

Among the conditions is not to be older than 25 years. Employment will take care of adequate and equitable representation of citizens belonging to all communities by respecting the criteria of expertise and competence.

The virus is present in the Roma community, there are infected and dead, but there is not much talk about it, said the representatives of the Roma national community in Serbia for the popular "React".They reminded that most Roma in Serbia live in unhygienic conditions where very often there is no water or electricity, and during the pandemic they are mostly left alone.

It is added that the young population of Roma has difficulties with attending online classes because they do not have the conditions for that and the necessary tools (internet, tablets, smartphones ..)At the same time, there is a large number of Roma who lost their jobs and basic livelihood due to the pandemic.According to some unofficial figures, there are over 590 informal settlements in Serbia where officially about 150,000 Roma live, while the unofficial figures are three times more.

The government is sending the draft law on census again in parliamentary procedure, hoping that Macedonia will finally be counted after 18 years. It is expected that the statistical operation would be carried out in April next year at the latest, and this issue was part of the coalition agreement of the ruling parties.

 The head of the State Statistical Office, Apostol Simovski says that the institution has long been ready to conduct the census, because, as he says, it is an obligation, both to the citizens and to the state.

- The census is the first priority by Brussels and I hope that the law will get the green light in the Parliament as soon as possible. Conducting the census is a benchmark, ie de jure and de facto condition for opening a cluster dedicated to justice in the negotiations with the EU, because in it, as chapter 18 is exactly the statistics, as well as the part about the judiciary, ie. Chapter 23, which will start the negotiation process, said the director of the Statistical Office, Simovski.
