For 50 years he treated the poor for free and even gave money as a gift, and it is sad what the end was like

Muhammad Mashali, known as the "Doctor of the Poor", died on September 4, 2020. For five decades, this Egyptian doctor treated the poor for free, regardless of the patients' religious affiliation. He helped everyone whether he was a Muslim or a Coptic Christian.
And not only did he treat them for free in his modest office but he also often gave them money.
There were queues every day in front of his office, where he worked ten hours a day. Dr. Muhammad Mashali never had a car or a telephone. He walked from work to home even though he was 80 years old.
When one of the richest men in the region found out about his work, he gave him $ 20,000, a car and he moved, but a year after returning to Egypt, the rich man found out that the doctor even sold the car to help poor patients and bought a medical equipment.
When Muhammad Mashali graduated from the Cairo School of Medicine in 1967, he said why he sacrificed himself for the good of others.
- My father sacrificed his life to make me a doctor. "Then I promised God that I would not take a penny from the poor and that I would live a life in the service of my neighbors regardless of culture and religion," Mashali said.
Doctor Mashal, may you have eternal glory!

Due to the consequences of the coronavirus, the EU is helping the media in Serbia with 2.4 million euros

The European Union (EU) has provided € 2.4 million in grants to help the media cope with the effects of the coronavirus and continue to produce content at a time of great loss and challenge, FoNet reports.
The support will be provided during these 36 months and will be implemented by the European Fund for Democracy (EED).
The head of the EU delegation to Serbia, Ambassador Sam Fabrici, noted that "the media around the world have been trying to cope with new economic challenges and technological changes in recent years. "The COVID-19 pandemic, which affected almost all professions, further aggravated the situation in the media, especially those of a local nature," Fabrici said.

Romani people in Turkey

The Romani people in Turkey (Turkish: Türkiye'deki Romanlar). There are many subgroups, the majority group are the Şoparlar, who live in East Thrace. All subgroups in Turkey have in common, that they are Sunni muslims and speak Turkish.

There are officially about 500,000 Romani in Turkey

There are records of the presence of the Romani people from AD 800 in Thrace, known in Greek as Athinganoi and in Turkish as Çingene. The Romanlar in Turkey have their own oral tradition, according to which their Ancestors, once came as Traders from different parts of India and Pakistan as well. They arrived at the time of the Indo-Roman trade relations, to Egypt (Roman province), and settled arround the Red Sea coast. From there they went to Arabian Peninsula, to Mesopotamia, to Persia to Lesser Caucasus to East Anatolia. With the expansion of the Ottoman Empire, Romani settled in Rumelia (southeastern Europe) under Ottoman rule. The name Roman/Romanlar came from the Turkish Doğu Roman İmparatorluğu (eastern Roman empire). Sulukule in Istanbul is the oldest Romani settlement in Europe, recorded in 1054. The majority of the Romani people in Turkey live in East ThraceMarmara Region and Aegean Region. Uniquely in Ottoman history, the Muslim Romani people were given their own sanjak, or province, the sanjak of Vize. Romani people in Turkey speak Turkish as their first language, and no longer use Romani. They often marry non-Romani.

The descendants of the Ottoman Romani today are known as Muslim Roma. They are of Sunni Islamic faith of Hanafi madhab, and practise male Khitan (circumcision). In Edirne, the Kakava festival is held every year.

In modern Turkey, Xoraxane Romani do not have a legal status of ethnic minority because they are traditionally adherents of the Islamic faith, adherents of which, regardless of ethnicity or race, are considered part of the ethnic majority in Turkey. This goes as far back as the Treaty of Lausanne (1923), in which Section III "Protection of Minorities" put an emphasis on non-Muslim minorities. A group of Turkish Romani appears in the 16th century Ottoman Constantinople of the video game Assassin's Creed: Revelations.

Appallingly racist attempt to evict Ukrainian Roma community from village in Kharkiv oblast

The good news about the anti-Roma conflict in Andriyivka (Kharkiv oblast) on 29 August is that the law enforcement bodies behaved extremely well, very likely averting bloodshed. The bad news is, of course, that an incident involving members of a single Roma family was used to fire up a huge crowd and provoke demands that all of the Roma community in Andriyivka be evicted.  One family almost certainly remains in the hiding place provided by the police, and others have every reason to feel frightened in their own homes.

What happened a few days later was much more disturbing.  There are around 300 Roma in Andriyivka which has a population of around nine thousand people.  Vitaly Stepanenko, called a public meeting for 31 August (a Saturday morning) in the central square, with this attended by around 500 people.  Stepanenko made the first, incendiary speech in which he claimed that Roma were committing acts of lawlessness, hooliganism and crimes and that the local police and authorities were turning a blind eye to this.  Judging by some of the speeches, people were intent on expressing general discontent with the authorities, however there was a pronounced anti-Roma message, which Stepanenko, in particular, was fuelling.   He specifically accused members of the Roma community of involvement in drugs and drug trafficking, and called on the police to organize a patrol of the village and neighbouring Donets.
