The Roma population in Serbia is not left out of the list for vaccination, the state is seriously taking the importance of preserving the health of the Roma community, and in the following months, the Roma community will be able to apply for vaccination, with the help of mobile teams in their communities. – I except that the people, after today’s initiative, know that the state is seriously dedicated in supporting all of the population groups which are in the immunization process against the current COVID-19 Pandemic – stated the Minister of Health, Marija Obradovic during her visit of Marinkova Bara, one of the substandard settlements located in Vozhdovac, which is mostly resided by members of the Roma community. The Government Officials were talking with the residents of Marinkova Bara in order to meet all of the citizens who are interested in the process of application for the vaccination against the COVID-19 Virus, this is done through the portal for E-Government and through the Call Center. The Minister said that the first step in the inclusion of the Roma population in the immunization process can be found on the Internet which is organized by the MDULS who cooperate with Opre Roma Serbia and that in the following days, all of the cities and municipalities will get clear directions for the establishment of collaboration with the Roma community regarding this issue.

“Romology” of Rajko Djuric: The Roma in India – India in the Roma. “When the Roma is not a foreigner”

A lot of Roma faces are similar with the ones of the Hindus. In the body language, soul or spirit, those are the things that are recognized as elements of expression which are typical for the Roma. When are the Roma not considered as foreigners?

When do the different expressions start to appear in the "game" of nature and culture, which never stops? Does language change before the body language, soul and spirit? These and many other questions are waiting to be answered. The statements of many Roma also demand an answer: "For the first time, the feeling of being a foreigner disappeared when I set foot on Indian soil!" When Indian television reporters asked some Roma how they felt in Chandigarh, they began to choke with tears and replied: "I am no longer a stranger!"

When and how was the soul of this “stranger” imprisoned? It is quite certain that this happened after the exodus, which happened a thousand years ago, an exodus who “protected” the borders of every country.

This phenomena, which several philosophers noticed at those who feel like foreigners “eternal foreigners”, the Jews and the Roma, gained due to a century of stigmatization. That is how, after a thousand years, the Roma have accepted their “mother”, India. Amari daj si djivdi! (“Our mother is still alive!”).

Czech: Brand-new Czech Chief Public Health Officer has a history of anti-Romani racism in her previous public communications about COVID-19

The Czech News Agency has reported that the new Chief Public Health Officer for the Czech Republic will be the current director of the Moravian-Silesian Regional Public Health Department, Pavla Svrčinová, but its brief announcement of that news failed to mention that in October, Svrčinová shared a racist joke on her Facebook profile in association with the Government's measures to fight COVID-19. Whether anti-Romani racism is meant to be the new style of communications to induce the public in the Czech Republic to comply with the Government's measures against the pandemic, some of which have previously only remained in effect for a few hours, is probably a question for its main PR guru, Marek Prchal.

Last October, Svrčinová shared the following anti-Romani joke: "Fero Lakatoš robbed his own apartment today. He is following the quarantine rules and working from home. Be like Fero."

After a screenshot of that post was massively shared online and influential journalists began to comment on it, she deleted it around 19:30 yesterday evening, and after 20:00 her Facebook profile was nowhere to be found. Svrčinová then gave the iDNES.cz news server a classic excuse for having posted the meme, claiming to have nothing to do with it and denying that she was the person who had actually shared the joke.
