Selimi to Arsovska: The citizens of Topaana want to reconstruct a forgotten street, and FC Napredok – 65, Shutka from Shuto Orizari to have a field to hold matches

Recently, the amendment to the proposal for amending and supplementing the Budget for the City of Skopje for 2022 was put on the agenda in the Council of the City of Skopje to provide funds in the amount of 10 million denars (150.000 euro) in the category of the program for the construction and reconstruction of local roads, category 4 8 2 other construction buildings for a new rate for inter-municipal cooperation for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of Maksut Sadik street in Chair municipality. But the same amendment was rejected by the mayor of the City of Skopje, Danela Arsovska, with the argument that it is unacceptable to cut from the item for greenery.

Councilor Erdjan Selimi from the advisory group of VMRO-DPMNE and the coalition clarified:

"I would like to give a brief overview and explanation of what exactly it is about, the need to submit such an amendment stems from the bad condition in which this street, Maksut Sadik, is located. It is about a forgotten street, very colorful, thousands of vehicles pass through that street, and it is located in the central city area of the city of Skopje and connects the municipalities of Centar with Chair and vice versa", Selimi added that the reconstruction of the street is at the request of the inhabitants. With the reconstruction of this street, the traffic will be eased and relieved at the same time.

The amendment in the proposal for amending and supplementing the Budget of the City of Skopje for 2022 to foresee funds in the amount of 3 million denars (50.000 euro) in the program for sports and recreation - capital costs, category 4 8 2 other construction facilities for the realization of a project for the reconstruction of the football stadium FC Napredok's field – 65, Shutka.

This amendment was not accepted by the mayor's office. "The field is in an extremely bad condition, and it is not able to be used for training and playing official football matches. Now imagine with a population of 40,000 inhabitants, Shuto Orizari does not have its own playground where the club will play its official matches. Given that fact, the club's administration forces them to look for a field outside the municipality to play the same matches, and they don't always find support and help," explained councilor Selimi.

He pointed out that exactly one week ago the club FC Napredok - 65 Shutka was supposed to play an official match, although everything was agreed in principle to play a match outside the home municipality on another field, certain people appeared there who did not allow the match to take place.

"It is really unfortunate that these children feel that great disenfranchisement and disappointment from a young age," the counselor emphasized.

In Bijeljina, part of the project to combat discrimination against Roma

Bjelina was the host of the implementation of the program of the European Union and the Council of Europe "Horizontal facility for the Western Balkans and Turkey 2019-2022" dedicated to the promotion of human rights in accordance with European standards.

The essence of the project is to inform the public about the harmfulness of hate speech in public space, the organizers said. That is why it is very important, as was heard, to take concrete steps that can be taken when it comes to the prevention of hate speech.

- In this context, we developed a document that in some way mapped the problems and institutions concerned with the problems of hate speech, with the intention of creating a joint plan in the coming period, i.e., a document or guidelines, based on which all competent institutions would commit themselves, especially those who operate in the sphere of regulation of the public media space, that is, informing citizens, in order to prevent and punish any such phenomenon that causes long-term damage - said Saliha Đuderija, Assistant Minister for Human Rights and Refugees of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Germany will soon allow dual citizenship?

Millions of people in Germany, among them many emigrants from the Balkans, have to choose – either to keep the citizenship they already have or to take German citizenship.

The German Ministry of the Interior confirmed to the portal The Local Germany that parliamentarians will soon discuss the bill to allow dual citizenship, reports Fenix Magazine.

People in Germany who want to naturalize as Germans and keep their first citizenship now have a date before Christmas for the Bundestag to consider their situation.

This news marks the end of a long wait for many German residents, who have been delaying obtaining German citizenship due to the general requirement to renounce their previous citizenship.

The only exceptions were those whose second citizenship was from the European Union, those from countries that do not allow renunciation and those who applied for special permission to retain their original citizenship due to difficulties – often a long and bureaucratic process.

If, as predicted, the new law is passed in the summer of 2023, the old rules may continue to apply for a short time, to ensure that civil servants are ready for the new rules. The exact waiting period will likely become clearer when the Bundestag begins debating the bill.
